The new 2017 Audi S4 and S4 Avant assume top position in the new A4 family.
For twenty-years, Audi’s S model lineup has been incredibly popular. The new 2017 Audi S4 and S4 Avant assume top position in the new A4 family with a newly developed engine, intelligent lightweight design and a package of innovative technologies from the full-size class, especially in terms of their connectivity and driver assistance systems.
Both the S4 and S4 Avant wagon find a newly developed 3.0 TFSI engine with turbocharging and direct injection, 260 kW (354 hp) of power, 500 Nm (368.8 lb-ft) of torque at a low 1,370 revolutions per minute. Also, more power for 2017 compared to the outgoing model, now with a 21-hp bump. Standard is the eight-speed tiptronic with fuel-saving freewheeling function.
The S4 sedan will sprint 0-100km/h in 4.7-seconds, while the S4 Avant wagon not far behind at 4.9-seconds.
The S sport seats get the fine Nappa leather treatment with integrated head restraints, adjustable lateral supports and lumbar support with pneumatic massage function. Up front, a virtual cockpit with 12.3‑inch monitor and S-specific mode and head‑up display are available as options. Other cabin features include multicolour interior lighting (30 colors), illuminated door sill guard, side contour lights, capacitive switches for reading lights and illuminated cup holder.
Much of the A4 and S success can be attributed to the modest, clean design, and the 2017 Audi S4 is no exception. S‑specific design characteristics include distinctive bumpers, air inlets, side sills and spoiler, diffuser trim and four tailpipes. LED headlights and dynamic turn signals rear are standard, plus optional Audi matrix LED headlights with dynamic turn signals front and rear.
