The Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse Jean Bugatti Edition Honors a Legend
Bugatti ‘Legend’ models are a series of six ultra-low-volume models created to honor the men that have been the backbone of the brand, shaping its history along the way. Bugatti has just released the second in the series, an edition of three models to honor Jean Bugatti. The Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse Jean Bugatti Edition is priced at 3-million dollars and boasts numbers that make it well worth the money.
Made of black carbon fiber it houses a rosewood shift, and is just shy of 1,200 horsepower and 1,100 pound-feet of torque. Numbers that can take it from 0-62 in just 2.6 seconds, a time that edges it just past the standard Bugatti Grand Sport. Another number edging it past the standard is its top speed. It boasts a top speed of 254 miles per hour, but has been relegated to 233 mph in the interest of driver safety.

The model pays homage to the prominent figure of 20th century automotive history, Gianoberto Carlo Rembrant Ettore, or Jean Bugatti. He was the eldest son of Ettore Bugatti and was the most gifted of all the children. He used his ideas on structure and design to exert influence over the development of the company, and took over at only 27 years old. By the time of his accidental death in 1939, at the young age of 30, he had already secured his place in automotive history, and this “Legend” edition just offers proof of that.
