New 2017 Honda Civic Type R Prototype Unveiled at Paris Motor Show

When you see the Type R badging on a Honda – or the Acura Integra back in the day – you know it’s all about performance and handling. This past weekend at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, Honda debuted a prototype 2017 Honda Civic Type R, giving us a glimpse into the styling of the next-generation Civic Type R, which will be the first-ever Honda-badged Type R coming to Canada.

Exterior Styling

The new Civic Type R exterior will see bespoke brushed aluminum wrap unique to this car. At the front, the aggressive fascia is accentuated with a winged carbon fibre splitter and sporty red accent line. Additional slatted ducts add width to the fascia, and diamond-mesh inserts fill the sculpted air intakes. The hood gets an intake with an air scoop; smoked LED headlights, a red ‘H’ badge, and side indicator repeater lights round things out.
