New 400-hp Volvo XC90 T8 is World’s Most Powerful and Cleanest SUV

Volvo XC90 Twin Engine

The plug-in electric, hybrid, high-performance SUV rolled into one

Matching the emission levels of smaller hybrid cars, Volvo’s new XC90 T8 is designed from the ground up for plug-in/electrification compatibility, delivering all the luxury, cargo, and performance you’d expect from an SUV.

Despite being an ultra fuel-efficient chariot, there’s no compromise in everything SUV in the new XC90 T8 — building on the new modular Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform and successful Drive-E petrol powertrain, Volvo has created a uniquely roomy 7-seater SUV that delivers 400-hp combined with ultra-low emissions and high fuel efficiency (2.5 l/100km).

Propelling from 0 to 100km/hr in 5.9-seconds, the XC90 T8 has five different driving modes that deliver a range of performance and efficiency-enhancing characteristics via a scroll wheel on the centre console or a touchscreen on the dashboard, drivers can choose from Hybrid, Pure Electric, Power Mode, AWD, and Save.

With the XC90 T8, it’s clear Volvo continues to focus on a more comfortable driving experience, a cleaner environment and safer roads. No details yet for the Volvo XC90 T8 release date.
