385-hp Porsche Cayman GT4 Premieres next month in Geneva
When Porsche first introduced their 2-seater Cayman — essentially, a hardtop Boxster — almost 10 years ago, we likely wouldn’t have expected this GT4 version with the likes of the 911 in the automaker’s portfolio. The Cayman S offers ample performance and power. Now, the GT4 takes it to another level.
Powered by a 3.8-litre flat-six engine, the new Porsche Cayman GT4 puts down 385-hp with a lap time 7-minutes and 40-seconds on the North Loop of the Nürburgring. The official debut takes place March 2015 at the Geneva International Motor Show.
Outside, the Cayman GT4 is clearly differentiated from related mid-engine coupes. Three distinctive inlet openings at the front and a large fixed rear wing are part of an aerodynamic package which is systematically designed for downforce, and upon request, the Cayman GT4 can be equipped even more comprehensively for sporty use.
Inside, the sport seats are upholstered in a combination of leather and Alcantara offering decent lateral support. The new GT4 sport steering wheel guarantees ideal control and direct steering feedback due to its compact dimensions.
The Porsche Cayman GT4 hits Canadian dealers in the third quarter of 2015 with pricing starting from $96,500.
