Hennessey Will Turn Your 2015 Mustang GT Into a 717 Horsepower Barn Burner

The 2015 HPE700 Mustang is limited to 500 units and comes with a CarbonAero package, 20-inch H10 wheels, and Brembo brakes with 15.1-inch rotors to get things started.

With the introduction of any new Mustang, there will be, inevitably, a slew of specialty and aftermarket Pony Cars waiting to burn wholes in your retirement account. Hennessey, the company behind the insane Venom GT, has laid its hands on the new 2015 Mustang and already has a barn-burner in its stables, the HPE700 Mustang, of which only 500 will be built.

Custom Mustang GT making big power, sprinting 0-60 in 3.6-seconds

Power comes from a supercharged 5.0-liter motor making 717 horsepower and 632 lb-ft of torque. According to the Texas Crazy Men, the car will sprint from zero to 60 in just 3.6 seconds. The quarter-mile comes in at just 11.2 seconds at 131 mph. All this performance comes from pumping 93 octane gas.

The supercharger is a roots-type high-helix 2.9-liter system making 7.25 psi of boost. The air induction system is a HPE (Hennessey Performance Engineering) design. Other bits from Hennessey include upgraded fuel injectors and pump, engine management calibration, with optional stainless, steel exhaust and dyno tuning.

Expect the HPE700 Mustang to be swathed in lettering and badges, so the uninitiated know this is more than just a run-of-the-mill two-seat American sports car. Hennessey, HPE700 and Supercharged will be placarded around the exterior warning those looking for a street-light-to-street-light fight to watch out.

Exterior upgrades include a CarbonAero package, which is optional. It includes a carbon-fiber front splitter, rear lip spoiler, side sills, and a rear diffuser—all functional, of course.

If you want to get your hands on one, you will first need a base 2015 GT along with an additional $59,500—chump change, really. To get the whole package, bring some extra change. Options include the CarbonAero package, 20-inch Hennessey H10 wheels and Brembo brakes with 15.1-inch rotors.

If you are looking for something a little more exotic and uncommon, Hennessey is in working on a high-performance version of the 2.3-liter EcoBoost Mustang. We can’t wait to see what they do with that four-pot motor.
