Some cars apparently stay with you. Carpoint founder Andreas Freund spent years trying to find another of the rare Porsche 924 shooting brakes built by Günter Artz in the 1980s, after driving one himself back in the day. Eventually, he stopped looking and built his own. The Carpoint GT-K44 reimagines the idea around the Porsche 944, replacing its familiar glass hatch with an extended steel roof, huge rear side windows and a proper tailgate, while retaining the rear seats. The first car started life as a 211-hp 944 S2 and looks wonderfully period-correct in Oak Green with a Pascha interior. Carpoint plans to build just 10, with each conversion starting at €100,000 before VAT (about $114K USD)…and you bring the 944.
