Brabus has already turned the G-Class into a 700-hp lifted monster and, more recently, helped build a 1,450-hp catamaran, so chopping the roof off a G 63 and giving it 900 hp almost feels inevitable. The new BRABUS 900 Rocket Edition Cabrio is the first open-top Rocket in company history, transforming the Mercedes-AMG G 63 with a bespoke soft top made from more than 500 components that opens or closes in 20 seconds. Under the Powerdome sits Brabus’ 4.5L twin-turbo V8 pumping out 900 hp and 922 lb-ft, good for 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds, while the widebody gets exposed carbon, massive 24-inch Monoblock II wheels and the usual leather-and-Alcantara Masterpiece treatment. Only 10 will be built, and the example shown rings in at €890,740 before German VAT. Apparently, a normal G-Wagen just wasn’t dramatic enough.
