Renault has reached back into its motorsport history for the Renault 8 Gordini Concept, a properly cool two-seat EV that reimagines the 1960s rear-drive icon as a low, wide, 270-hp electric coupe. The proportions are pure rally car, with a dramatically wider stance, staggered 19- and 20-inch wheels and the Gordini-signature blue paint and white stripes, while Renault describes the stripped-back design approach as “café racer” inspired. It follows other one-off heritage projects including the Renault R17 electric restomod and Renault 5 Diamant, and unfortunately, this one is also strictly a design exercise for now rather than a production announcement. Renault is unveiling the Gordini Concept on September 24 before bringing it to the 2026 Paris Motor Show, running October 12–18.
