All-new 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio sets Nurburgring 7:39 lap time record for fastest four-door production sedan
The iconic Italian brand is returning to North America with an all-new lineup of vehicles to include the Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe and 4C Spider. New to the list: the all-new 505-hp Giulia premium mid-size that does 0-100km/h in 3.9-seconds, recently doing the infamous German Nurburgring in a record-setting 7:39 time – fastest for a production sedan ever.
Power and Performance
Powered by a Ferrari-derived 505-horsepower bi-turbo V6, the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is the company’s most powerful production car to date, with best-in-class power-to-weight ratio of around 3 kg per horsepower, near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution, and segment-leading torsional rigidity.
According to Alfa Romeo, the primary objective of the engineering team was to “integrate world-first and next-level vehicle technological solutions that would only amplify the all-new Giulia Quadrifoglio’s driving experience.” For enhanced performance, the 2017 Giulia finds a new chassis domain control system, an integrated braking system, torque vectoring, an active aero front splitter, plus the Alfa DNA pro drive mode selector with four selections (Dynamic, Natural, Advanced Efficiency, and Race).
