Editor’s Note: before you go through the trouble, check out the new Jeep Gladiator here.
If you own a Jeep Wrangler and have been thinking about converting it to a pickup (and we’re sure you’ve given it some thought…) then the MOPAR conversion kit is exactly what you need. Inspired by the Jeep Scrambler CJ-8 of the 1980s, the JK-8 Pick-Up Conversion Kit from MOPAR is the perfect accessory.
Good for 2007 to 2014 Wranglers
This kit is meant to fit 2007-2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JKs. It is designed to not interfere with any towing need or compromise any cargo space. When you are looking for a place to get your conversion kit installed your first choice should be a Chrysler body shop.
Since they work with Jeeps all the time they are most equipped to handle conversions for Wranglers. Installation takes about 2 days apparently, but once done, that’s about it.
Jeep accessories to make it happen
Major components of the kit include a 44-inch by 50-inch steel bed, inner and outer bedsides made from stamped sheet metal, a removable fiber glass hardtop with two fixed side windows, a sliding rear window, and a fiber glass bulkhead. The best thing is you can choose whatever colour you like giving you more customization options.
With the option to purchase the JK-8 Jeep Wrangler Conversion Kit, the Wrangler enthusiasts looking for something different can rejoice. And if you like to get your hands dirty, you can install the kit yourself or get a body shop to install it for you. Either way the finished version of the Wrangler pickup steps things up a bit.
Update: According to the manufacturers, the Mopar JK-8 Pickup Conversion Kit is no longer available.
