Editor’s Note: the Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid is discontinued for 2017

Last year, Subaru unveiled their all new compact CUV offering, the Crosstrek. Now, the automaker steps it up with the 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid. Powered by an efficient 2.0-litre BOXER engine paired to a 13.4-hp electric motor and CVT transmission. The rear floor has been revised to house the 100v, 13.5kw battery located underneath, charged via the brake regeneration system. The standard all-wheel drive is the same. So is a 220mm of ground clearance as with the gas model.

Some key standard features in the 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid include 17-inch alloy rims; Heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors and windshield wiper de-icer; power sunroof; LED taillights; auto climate control system; and a colour multi-function display with energy flow display; just to name a few.
