Following a release date delay due to COVID-19, the next highly-anticipated Bond film is finally set to hit theatres this fall. Yet, merchandise for No Time to Die is already in full swing, kicking off with the badass Bond Edition Triumph motorcycle, and now this — a sweet James Bond slot car set by Scalextric, all celebrating the 25th instalment of the franchise, and likely Daniel Craig’s last go at the iconic British spy.
Completely battery-powered with an optional plug-in power pack, the set includes 4.08 metres of track along with 9 track layouts and, of course, that classic loop-the-loop and half pipe. We’re all familiar with 007’s stellar collection of cars over the decades, but Scalextric choose a couple beauties for this set — the classic Aston Martin DB5 going head-to-head with the Jaguar XF, both built using a one piece body shell design and compatible with other 1:64 scale tracks. The power level controllers are newly designed, lightweight, and ergonomic for both kids and adults. And no more slot cars flying off the track (you know what we mean); the power control switch features speed limits and allows to slow the speed down by 25%, 50%, 75% so children won’t fly off around corners at high speeds. The Micro Scalextric James Bond is priced at $54.99 but currently out of stock at time of writing. Hit up the Scalextric site to learn more.
