Toyota Gazoo Racing wants to make getting into motorsport a little less complicated. Its new GR KART is a 215cc entry-level racing kart for kids and adults, with sliding pedals and a tilting steering wheel that accommodates drivers from 135 to 185 cm tall. More interestingly, Toyota engineered the 83-kg kart to fit inside a Noah or Voxy (both Japanese-market minivans) without disassembly, and upright storage means it takes up less space at home. A belt-drive system, automatic tensioner and self-charging battery help keep maintenance to a minimum, and there’s a dedicated GR app covering everything from learning the basics to accessing participating tracks. The GR KART costs ¥385,000 (about $2,500 USD) and is currently available through select kart tracks and GR Garage locations in Japan. It’s a pretty convincing argument for skipping soccer practice.
