1963 Ferrari 250 GTO: Not Your Average Classic Car

The 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO recently sold for $52-million — that makes it the most expensive car in the world.

When it comes to classic cars, the Ferrari 250 GTO is the top car to own. That makes it a very valuable car and a very expensive one as well. The owners of these rare and valuable cars put a lot of love into them, and usually own them not just for the investment, but also because they love the vehicles themselves. That love, however, doesn’t help them pay any less when it comes time to buy one of these beautiful machines. Ferraris have risen at an average annual rate of 15 percent for more than thirty years, making them the most desirable, and most expensive, classic cars to own.

No car demonstrates this better than the little, red 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO that was recently sold for 52 million dollars. That’s right, fifty-two million. This hefty price tag makes it the most expensive car in the world. Although it isn’t too far ahead of similar Ferraris, which average sale offers of 40 – 50 million from private buyers, who call the current owners regularly, looking to purchase a car like the Ferrari 250 GTO. The car was previously owned by Paul Pappalardo, and was sold to an unidentified buy in a private transaction. Whoever that buyer is, he was willing to spend it all for this beautiful machine, and we can only assume it’s worth every penny.
