Special edition model will join the Panamera lineup in January
Starting in January 2013, Porsche will be offering a particularly exclusive and elegant version of the Panamera: the Platinum Edition. This special edition model, available as either rear-wheel drive Panamera or all-wheel drive Panamera 4, is identifiable thanks to subtle design features finished in Platinum Silver metallic combined with more standard equipment and exclusive design details.
The lower half of the side view mirrors, the air-inlet grille slats, the air vent grille on the side designed originally for the Panamera Turbo model, the trim strip on the trunk lid, and the rear diffuser are all finished in Platinum Silver metallic. These details result in an especially harmonious and elegant appearance matched with any one of the special edition’s five exterior colours: black, white, or Basalt Black metallic, Carbon Grey metallic or Mahogany metallic. Additionally, black gloss finish is used for the side window trim thereby enhancing the overall exterior appearance.
Some of the most popular options were combined and added to the Panamera Platinum Edition as standard equipment. On the outside, these include the Bi-Xenon headlights, as well as front and rear parking assist. The 19-inch Panamera Turbo alloy wheels with coloured Porsche crests highlight the sporty elegance of the vehicle, while complimenting the car’s enhanced dynamics thanks to standard Porsche Active Suspension Managment (PASM) and Power Steering Plus.
Inside, the 14-way front power seats are standard exclusively for the Panamera Platinum Edition. A new black/Luxor beige two-tone colour combination, exclusive to the Platinum Edition, also creates a sumptuous interior ambience. Compared to the two-tone detailing, the upper part of the dashboard and the door trim, the footwell and the back of the front seats as well as the luggage cover are trimmed in black, while the remainder of the interior is in Luxor beige. Other highlights include the standard SportDesign steering wheel, the distinctive Porsche crest embossed on the front and rear headrests, as well as “Platinum Edition” decorative trim strips on the front door sills.
The Panamera Platinum Edition also features enhanced infotainment features. Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation module is standard, with a high-resolution 7-inch TFT touchscreen. A standard BOSE audio package combines a 14-speaker, ninechannel, 585-watt surround-sound system with 200-watt subwoofer and AudioPilot noise compensation technology with SiriusXM satellite radio and a six-disc CD changer. The Panamera Platinum Edition will be offered at a starting price of $92,800 for the Panamera Platinum Edition and $97,400 for the Panamera 4 Platinum Edition.
