Geared towards the performance-driven driving enthusiast, the all-new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT features a new 6.2L HEMI producing over 600 horsepower. The standard SRT’s 392 HEMI V8 is no slouch either, delivering 485 horsepower and 475 lb.ft of peak torque. In 2019, Dodge unleashed the most powerful, quickest, and fastest muscle car with its 2019 Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye.
The new 6.2L V8 engine becomes the most powerful Chrysler has ever offered
- Engine: 6.2L Supercharged HEMI V8
- Horsepower: 707 horsepower
- Torque: 650 lb-ft
- Transmission Options: 6-speed manual (Tremec TR-6060); 8-speed automatic (TorqueFlite)
- 0-60 mph: Approximately 3.6 seconds
- Top Speed: 199 mph
- Quarter-Mile Time: 10.8 seconds (on drag radials)
Both Challenger SRT versions, with or without the furious Hellcat powertrain, are re-designed and totally re-engineered to be the most true-to-form muscle coupes on the market with performance-enhancing technologies inside and out. This new 6.2L V8 engine begins the most powerful Chrysler has ever offered.
The wheels and footwork
- Braking: Brembo high-performance brakes with 15.4-inch front rotors and six-piston calipers
- Tires: Pirelli P Zero tires
- Curb Weight: 4,439 lbs (manual) / 4,448 lbs (automatic)
The Hellcat Challenger SRT rolls on exclusive “Slingshot” split-seven spoke 20 x 9.5-inch, lightweight forged-aluminum wheels with a matte black finish and wrapped in Pirelli Tires; available on the SRT 392 as part of the SRT Track Pack. If matte black isn’t your thing, opt for the 20 x 9.5-inch, lightweight forged-aluminum wheels with a Brass Monkey/dark bronze finish instead.
Styling and interior to match all that power
The styling is classic Challenger, with a new fascia design and an all-new vertical-split grille, including dual air extractors, to ensure effective heat removal and reduced air turbulence in the engine bay. To reduce weight, both SRT versions come with an all-aluminum hood design.
The cabin finds premium materials throughout with a driver-focused cockpit that’s both comfortable and designed for performance; a cockpit that takes inspiration from the 1971 Challenger but in a more organically styled layout.
Just a month after Dodge unveiled their new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT at the New York Auto Show, the automaker hits us with the beastly Hellcat offering. And for that, we thank you.
