MONTX clearly thinks reaching the end of the trail shouldn’t mean turning around. First shown at Auto China earlier this year, the P10 concept is a seriously futuristic adventure pickup wrapped in Fighter Jet Grey, with armour-like bodywork, long-travel suspension, four-wheel distributed drive and torque vectoring built to deal with mud, gravel and rough terrain. Its onboard tech can create a real-time 3D model of the ground ahead and automatically adjust the suspension, while the cabin gets a sliding steering wheel that can shift between left- and right-hand drive. But the properly wild bit sits in the bed: a compact passenger aircraft designed to take over when the truck can’t go any farther. MONTX also envisions the modular P10 as an expedition vehicle, mobile studio or off-grid basecamp, making this less traditional pickup and more go-anywhere mothership. This could be a bona fide family truck, getting two tasks done at once.
