RENNtech’s 660-HP Widebody SEC Is Pure V12 Excess

No forced induction. No hybrid assist. Just a 7.5L V12 doing what it was born to do.

The SEC V12 Widebody SLEDGEHAMMER is what happens when a tuner with real history decides to rewrite its own legend. Built by RENNtech and limited to just 12 examples arriving in 2027, this is a full coachbuilt reimagining of the C126 SEC platform: widened, reengineered, and centered around one of Mercedes-Benz’s most iconic engines.

At its heart sits the mythical Mercedes-Benz M120 V12. Yes, the same all-aluminum V12 that powered the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR and later the Pagani Zonda. Here, it’s stroked to 7.5 liters and hand-built in-house to produce 660 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, complete with equal-length headers and a naturally aspirated soundtrack that feels pulled from another era. No forced induction. No hybrid assist. Just displacement and intent.

The widebody itself isn’t a bolt-on aesthetic exercise. Each car undergoes a full frame-up restoration, integrating a unified chassis, drivetrain, aero, and cooling package designed for real high-speed stability. Flared arches, forged wheels, and functional ducting give the classic SEC silhouette a harder, more purposeful edge. It’s less restomod, more resurrection — a modern Sledgehammer built the old-school way. More at RENNtech.
