Pickups have come a long way. They still tow and haul but the best trucks today are loaded with the latest tech, especially in the cabin, where comfortable interiors rival the latest sedans. And somehow, automakers are managing to build lighter, better handling trucks with smaller displacements while managing to increase power and towing capabilities to improve efficiencies across the board. But perhaps the biggest news is the resurgence of small trucks; the popular Toyota Tacoma continues to go strong but old nameplates like the Chevy Colorado and now new Ford Ranger have returned to North America, giving the mid-size pickup class some real competition. And luxury trucks continue to do well, like the popular GMC Sierra Denali and now the Ram 1500 that has stepped up its premium game.
