Porsche and LEGO have joined forces before, but this new 1,458-piece 911 is perfect for the classic car lovers. Unlike the 2,704-piece Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS released back in 2016, or the most recent 1,580-piece Technic 911 RSR set, this 911 is a little less complicated part of the Creator series, far cheaper, and takes on a more iconic design compared to the high-performance GT3 and RSR kits.
Measuring over 4 in. (10 cm) high, 13.5 in. (35 cm) long and 6 in. (16 cm) wide when completed, this Porsche 911 stands apart with the option to build either the Turbo model with its turbocharged engine or the open-air Targa with its Targa bar and a removable roof that stores under the hood.
The clean white look is sharp with the contrasting black bits including a rear spoiler integrated into the engine cover, and expect all the great little details found in nearly every LEGO car set like a moving steering wheel, e-brake, gearshift, and tilting seats.
Of course, the old-school air-cooled flat-six engine at the back alongside a distinct license plate are both pretty cool touches. And the interior gets that classic dark-orange-and-nougat colour scheme. The LEGO Creator Porsche 911 Turbo/Targo set goes on sale March 1, 2021 for $149.99.
