Success has been Cadillac’s stepping stone for many years and they have fully enjoyed it. However, for all the success Cadillac has enjoyed in recent years there always seems to be something amiss from their showrooms. While the new smaller cars have been good to and for the company, the most famous Cadillacs still dominate the road.

The New Concept

Recently at Pebble Beach, Cadillac revealed their new ride: the Cadillac Elmiraj Concept. It is shown to be a 500-hp coupe that will bring back the past with a modern day twist that offers a suggestion that the era of a full-grown Caddy could make its valiant return to the showrooms and roads.

The Details

Being named for the design it derives from of the 1967 Eldorado, it is a 205-inch-long Elmiraj that abandons the hybrid/electric infatuation of the recent concepts for the brute force of a twin-turbo, 4.5-liter V-8 engine; the way it was intended to be. The new concept’s style further smoothes out and lengthens the lines that are seen on cars today.

Found on the inside there is the usual designer studio mixture of exotic materials and shapes. It will offer the most innovative touch that can be found in and from the rear seats; instead of the doors being lengthen to the size of a football-field, the seats in the Cadillac Elmiraj Concept will automatically move forward to give a passenger assignment and will then slide back after the doors have been closed.

What else can be expected?

While other hints are very few, there are some hints that this new concept has more of a production possibility than that of last year’s Ciel Convertible. Although Elmiraj will wear what Cadillac has called a draft version of their new logo and will be built on a chassis from the ongoing Cadillac vehicle development project that is slated for future productions.
