Providing highly relevant consumer-driven information for Canadian shoppers to take with them in the marketplace.
Every year, Canadians are shopping for new cars, in particular, the latest all-new offerings by the top automakers. From economical and fuel-efficient small cars to luxury SUVs and sports performance, consumers seek credible advice to make these significant decisions. The annual AJAC Test Fest is the evaluation process based on real-world, back-to-back testing so that results have relevance for car-shopping consumers. And the voting results lead to the Canadian Car of the Year Awards (CCOTY), with the winning vehicles announced in the coming months.
A small group of carefully selected, credible, and working professional Canadian auto journalists participate in the annual Test Fest event, with 2014/2015 marking the event’s 28th year held in Niagara Falls, Ontario for the second year in a row.
Candidate vehicles are those that are substantially new or revised for 2015 and fall into one of the following categories:

About the AJAC Test Fest Process
Justin Pritchard, the CCOTY Co-Chair, explains, “our program is absolutely testing-based…we’ve got dozens of experienced vehicle testers driving dozens of vehicles, back to back, over the course of several days. This testing process generates thousands of data points across dozens of voting fields. We share every aspectof this testing data online—so shoppers can see how a given vehicle won its category, or how it stacked up to the category winner”.
“Whether you’re interested in one of this year’s category winners, which we’ll announce in December, or another model from a previous year, every bit of our testing data and voting data is shared online, along with tools to compare vehicle sacross various categories and years. Our performance data, which is factored into every vehicle’s overall score, is also published”.
